Retinoid Serum UK

In this blog we are going to go over everything you need to know about retinoid serum, and answer some questions that many of you have been asking us, so you can make better decisions on which to use and the main benefits of adding these types of serums and creams to your clinical procedures to maximise your microneedling results.

Different Types of Retinoids

The different types of retinoids include:

  • Retinol esters
  • Retinol
  • Retinaldehyde
  • Retinoic acid esters
  • Adapalene
  • Tretinoin
  • Tazarotene
  • Trifarotene
  • Isotretinoin

Retinol Esters

Retinol esters are the mildest types of retinoids, because they need to be

converted three times within our skin before they become active.

Retinol

Retinol, the most popular over-the-counter retinoid, goes through two

conversions before it becomes active. That means you’re getting a more

effective form of vitamin A than retinol esters.

Retinaldehyde

Retinaldehyde, also known as retinal, is directly converted into retinoic acid

by our skin. It converts to retinoic acid 11 times faster than retinol

Retinoic Acid Esters

Retinoic acid esters are a new generation of retinoids that are popping up in

more and more products. One type of retinoic acid ester is retinyl retinoate.

The other type of retinoic acid ester is hydroxypinacolone retinoate (HPR), which you might be familiar with as “granactive retinoid”

What Retinoid Serum Does

Retinoid serum is a product that is applied to the skin to help reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and other signs of ageing. It can also help to improve the texture of the skin.

Retinoid is an ingredient found in skin serums that contains vitamin A derivative and is the only ingredient that is clinically proven to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, intense pigmentation and age spots by exfoliating the first layer of the skin.

A retinoid serum can also help to even out your skin tone and improve your skin’s texture.

There are many different  serums on the market, so it is important to find one that is right for you.

If you have sensitive skin, you may want to try a retinoid serum that is designed for sensitive skin. If you have dry skin, you may want to try one that is designed for dry skin and the same for oily skin types.

The retinol serum should be applied using the directed guidelines for best results possible. It is important not to use more than is needed as this will not benefit you in any way, but rather waste product.

How Retinoid Serum Works

Retinoid serum works by increasing the production of collagen and elastin in the skin. Collagen and elastin are proteins that help to keep the skin firm and elastic.

Retinoids bind to retinoic receptors which directly target the genes in the skin, thus slowing down the ageing process that naturally occurs in us all.

One of the most important things to look for when choosing a retinoid skin serum is the concentration of retinoid. The higher the concentration of retiniod, the more effective the serum will be.

The serums that we offer at Ivan Med are suitable for all users and will get you the best results as all products have been extensively research by medical professionals and tested to a very high standard.

The serums that are offered by us also contain many other beneficial ingredients that all contribute and work together to leave your skin with a healthy looking soft glow.
